LBP Welcomes Steve Spires, Policy Analyst

The Louisiana Budget Project is pleased to announce Steve Spires as its new policy analyst specializing in health care issues.

He is a graduate of American University’s School of Public Affairs.  His experience in Washington D.C. includes a variety of
internships, most recently with our partner organization, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, where he was the Health
Policy Intern.

Steve will bring his knowledge of health care policy to the Budget Project to further our work in promoting a more balanced approach to Louisiana’s fiscal problems.

The governor's plan will mainly benefit corporations and the wealthy, while working and middle-class families will pay more for services and products we use every day such as diapers, garbage collection, haircuts and home repairs. Louisiana’s tax system certainly needs to be improved, but this is the wrong way to do it.
Gov. Jeff Landry has called the Legislature into a special session to overhaul Louisiana’s tax structure.
