Now Hiring: Communications Specialist

The Louisiana Budget Project (LBP) is looking to hire a full-time person to handle all aspects of communications and public relations.

Position description:  Designs, develops, and implements the communications and public relations program to build awareness of the organization’s mission, programs and achievements. Manages and coordinates all media relations, special community events and external publications.

The person will maintain and update LBP’s website and databases, draft media releases, manage LBP’s social media accounts, format and design LBP publications, promote LBP and its work, generate speaking engagements for LBP staff, and help manage a small, but busy nonprofit group focused on research and advocacy.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or related field. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. Flexible, detail-oriented self-starter who can function well in a team environment.
