Coverage expansion would help uninsured Louisianans in every Legislative district

New data from the U.S. Census shows the number of people in each Louisiana state House and Senate district who would benefit from using federal dollars to expand health coverage.

“We know that providing secure health care coverage improves health outcomes and saves lives,” said Jan Moller, director of the Louisiana Budget Project. “Now we know just how many people would benefit in each district.”

The data comes as members of the House Health and Welfare committee will consider a constitutional amendment that would let voters chose whether to extend health coverage to low-income Louisiana adults.
